"But now to Bed!"

Wooden furniture and wooden toys for children - do you remember? What is the emotional meaning of these things that accompany a child from the beginning of his life? Early memories bring astonishing insights: a child cannot yet cognitively distinguish between good and bad qualities - logically - but emotionally it is quite capable of having positive experiences with wooden objects that surround it in its little life.

And where does a child spend a lot of time at home? Right! In your own cot!

Who still remembers their crib?

It takes a little time to think back to when you were a kid. Many situations come to mind, incidents in which one cried, was afraid and was unhappy, but also many incidents that one enjoyed, that one loved and wanted to experience again and again because they were so beautiful!

What place is more predestined for both good and bad memories than the cot?

Which child likes to go to bed? Every child loves to be put to bed by their mother or father, to say a prayer together or to be sung to a song, every child enjoys a kiss goodnight or a hand on the forehead.

But when mom or dad turn away from the bed, the pain of parting comes! NO, I don't want to sleep yet! NO, stay here a little longer! NO, don't leave me alone, I'm afraid of the dark, it's such a weird noise! Everyone knows this emotional swing of bliss and separation pain!

And when you end up lying all alone in your bed, what happens then?

Then you deal with what is very close to you: the cuddly toy, the pillow, the blanket and:

the boundaries set by the bed: boards on the right, left and at the foot end, a higher wooden wall at the head end, often with carved patterns or lovingly painted with beautiful colors and motifs.

What is perceived as a border is also at the same time the small fortress, the castle, the protection that you don't fall out, but lie protected in your very personal, own "kingdom". This is then the time to let yourself fall into the dreams, safe and secure in HIS bed.

It is important that the cot is not a loveless corner in the room, but a well-chosen place, a safe place that can also be decorated or painted in a child-friendly way.

Who would want to deprive their child of such a place?

Parents and grandparents: be careful when choosing your favorite cot!
